THE FEM WORD: POWERED BY OUR PARTNERS
Shubha Iyengar vadlamani
As the mother of three daughters, Shubha sees how social media and other outside influences can deeply influence girls' lives. Growing up as a South Asian-American in the 1980s, she herself experienced plenty of judgment, stereotyping, and competing narratives on her journey toward womanhood.
Supporting The Fem Word is Shubha's way of challenging these competing voices and offering girls like hers a whole world full of powerful, empowering role models that don't apologize for who and what they are. Stories like those being shared on this platform are a pathway toward confidence and self esteem for millions of young girls and women in the USA and far beyond––and for moms and daughters alike, this matters more than any one story can convey.
