THE TEAM

Emily Sinclair Montague is an author, freelance writer, and experienced editor from the Washington, DC area. She has been a member of The Fem Word team since the platform’s early days, and she now holds the dual roles of Managing Editor and Senior Staff Writer here at TFW. She is the owner of her own freelance writing and editing business, Words of a Feather, and is the author of The Jewel Chronicles (under her pen name, E.M. Sinclair). She has written numerous articles for publications that include Better Humans, PULP Magazine, Better Marketing, Bethesda Magazine, The Washington Post, and many more. She is incredibly grateful to be a part of The Fem Word family, and enjoys every second of her work with Monika and the rest of the team.

Quinn Terry (they/them/theirs) is the staff editor at The Fem Word. They are a graduate student in the History department at Virginia Commonwealth University and a freelance editor of any and all content that comes their way. Quinn’s interests include queer history, skulking around cemeteries cemeteries, reading instead of doing their school work, cross stitching, and deconstructing the cis agenda. They enjoy being a part of The Fem Word team because they are constantly learning through the work of their fellow staff members. They are blown away by the amazing work each member brings to the platform. They live with their spouse and a veritable zoo of animals in rural North Carolina.

Adele Whipps is a freelance writer and a supervisor at a family-owned vineyard in Poolesville, Maryland. Her passions not only include writing and wine, but cooking, hiking, and memorizing song lyrics and movie quotes. Her work has been featured on The Fem Word, Coffee House Writers, and The Trek.

Meera Dahiya is studying Economics at Georgetown University in Washington, DC. She was a Contributing Editor at The Hoya and is the Community Chair for the Women in Leadership program at the university. She is extremely passionate about women’s rights and is an advocate for girls education. Meera was actively involved in fundraising for the girls education nonprofit, Girl Rising, and as a youth ambassador for 'Sahasra Deepika' school for underprivileged girls in India, she raised funds to build an athletic court at the school. In her spare time, Meera enjoys running, debating, and fundraising.

Olivia Eisenberg (she/her) is studying Political Science and Public Policy Analysis at the University of Vermont (Class of 2024). Olivia joined The Fem Word as a contributor in 2020, and some of the topics she enjoys writing about about include the stigma surrounding menstruation and the sexual violence epidemic in America and throughout the world. Olivia loves being a part of The Fem Word because it allows her to continue to research and learn about the topics about which she feels most passionate, while working alongside infinitely curious and hardworking people. Outside of The Fem Word, Olivia is an active member of UVM's Student Government Association and other civic-engagement organizations in Burlington, and owns and operates a bakery with her two younger sisters -- Eisenberg Cakes & Bakes.

Saira Rathod has been a contributor for The Fem Word since it’s inception. She is a student at the University of Michigan studying Information Analysis and Public Health. She joined TFW because she felt strongly that she was only hearing negative news in the media about women and that feminism had a pessimistic connotation. But she says, “TFW has created a platform for her to share stories of bad-ass women all around the world.” Saira enjoys writing and finding stories about women in sports.
