GirlTrek, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the health and healing of black women and girls, have organized walk teams in hundreds of cities and towns. Co-founders Vanessa Garrison and T. As conversations around race increase across the nation, organizations and individuals are reassessing names and symbols from the past. The Southeastern Conference is urging Mississippi to change its state flag, stating that it wants athletes to play in a more inclusive environment. READ MORE

NASA will rename its headquarters after Mary W. Jackson, the agency's first African American female engineer. During her time at NASA, Jackson helped promote a more inclusive environment for minorities and women. READ MORE

Disney Reimagined

One of Disney’s most popular and oldest rides is being re-themed due to the controversial film, “Song of the South”. Splash Mountain has been criticized for the racist background behind this ride and will soon be a “thing of the past”. The Walt Disney team has planned to retheme the ride to inspire “Princess and the Frog” that stars the company’s first Black Princess. READ MORE
