Poland is taking steps to withdraw from a European treaty on violence against women because they say it “violates parents' rights by requiring schools to teach children about gender.” Thousands of people, mostly women, protested in Warsaw and other cities against proposals to reject the treaty. The Rwanda Cricket Association, in partnership with Cricket Builds Hope, is helping to empower young women in Rwanda through cricket. They see the sport as a tool for social change and since the program started in 2018, around 300 women have benefitted from workshops on business and leadership skills, with cricket sessions held afterwards to reinforce the lessons.
